My great husband

For Mother's Day I was expecting some flowers or something simple. Adam is very thoughtful, but doesn't usually get really creative with his gift giving. So I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up Mother's Day morning and Adam handed me a piece of paper that took me on a short treasure hunt around the house. At the end was the digital SLR Canon camera that I've wanted for a while now!!! I was so excited and surprised!! I can't wait to learn how it works and start taking pictures! What a great mother's day.

Team Noah

Today me, Ethan, Austin, and my sister Kristin participated in Salt Lake City's "Walk for Autism" for Kari and Jaren's son, Noah. "Team Noah" was one of the biggest groups there and Kari helped raise almost $12,000-the third highest fundraising group in the state! Way to go Kari! It was a lot of fun; there was free icecream, drinks, and candy, plus fun stuff for the kids to do.

Poor Ethan

Poor Ethan has been through a lot of medical procedures over the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago we took him to see an allergist. He's had a history of moderate to severe reactions to peanuts and since he's had eczema his whole life as well, we wanted to figure out what was causing that. He had to have blood taken and tested for some basic allergens. We found out he was allergic to peanuts, almonds, egg whites, and egg yolks. They didn't test for many others so we'll probably go back in a year and test some more things. You wouldn't believe how many things you eat every day that eggs are in! Luckily, after a visit to Good Earth foods I found some substitutes to some of his favorite egg-containing foods. So Ethan's been off eggs for a week and a half now and it actually seems to be helping quite a bit. His eczema has almost completely disappeared and he is doing much better at school. His teacher said Tuesday he'd had one of his best days of the whole year.
The sad picture you see above was taken today. He had to get three fillings, sealants, and x-rays at the dentist and since he refused to even sit in the dentist's chair for his cleaning, they had to sedate him for all the fillings and stuff. They gave him a shot of something and he slept through the whole thing. Since being home, he's been in a daze on the couch. He's finally waking up more and eating some (after some throwing up earlier). Hopefully this will be the last of the medical procedures in our family for a while, except that Adam's poor mom has to have her gallbladder out tomorrow.

I finally got my CD of pictures from the photographer, so here are a couple more cute ones I didn't include last time.

BUNKO!

Amanda and Craig planned a fun night of Bunko for a few couples in our neighborhood. We had tons of fun, even though Adam and I lost. Thanks Amanda and Craig, we'll have to do it again soon!

Girls Night Out!

My friend Jullian organized a much needed girls night out. She invited practically everyone in our neighborhood and ward, so we had over 20 people there. It was great to get away and let the husbands take care of the kids.

Pictures, Birthday, Surgery, and Conference

This past week has been a long one! Adam got hernia surgery last Wednesday and had 2 hernias repaired (this was his 4th surgery since we've been married, 3 of them being hernia surgeries!). It was same-day surgery and it went well, but the anesthesia really did a number on him and it took him a long time to completely wake up. He spent the next 5 days drugged up and passed out on our couch. But luckily he is feeling better and went back to work Monday.

The boys had pictures taken Thursday by a lady named Mindy Young. She does amazing pictures. We did them outside and it was windy and cold, so Ethan REFUSED to smile for hardly any of them. And as soon as we finished and got in the car he started crying and telling me how badly his stomach hurt, so that didn't help the smiling either. She's still editing them, but I've included a few that she's posted on her blog already. I'll put more up when she gives them to me.

My dad's 60th birthday was last week, so we went out to dinner at PF Changs Friday night to celebrate. It was delicious. My dad still looks and acts like he's 40 in my opinion.

And Sunday Mr. Mac got us tickets to General Conference. We were on the sixth row, so it was amazing to be soo close! Thanks so much to Eric and my mom for helping us out with the kids that morning.
