Family Reunion

This weekend we went to a family reunion for my Mom's side of the family. I don't see my aunts and uncles and cousins very often, so it was fun to see them and catch up. We stayed in a huge, brand new cabin at Panguitch Lake. It was up in the mountains and absolutely beautiful! It was a fun weekend, but very very exhausting. The adults stayed up really late both nights playing games, but then my kids would wake up at 6:30 am, leaving me with about 5 hours of not too great quality sleep. Oh well.

Austin usually hates being held by ANYONE except immediate family that is very comfortable with. But he absolutely LOVED my cousin Sydney from the moment he met her. Adam and I only wish she lived close to us so she could become our official babysitter! He loved it when she would play with his hair (see picture). I just can't bring myself to cut off his long curly locks of hair!

We spent most of our time outside; taking walks, playing in the lake or stream, swinging, campfires, etc.

The drive home was through the mountains and was beautiful (except for the whiney, tired kids in the back seat). We stopped to see a view of Cedar Breaks, it was amazing.

Google Image Post

My brother-in-law, Jason, did one of these on his blog and I thought it was pretty funny. I never do these, but I thought I'd give this one a try...

So this is how the game works... For each question, look up the answer in a Google Image search. Then choose the FIRST image only. You get some fun and often cryptic answers. If you need clarification on any of them leave a comment. Here's mine:

So sleepy!

Last week we got together with my family at Eric and Lara's house and had a BBQ and fireworks for "Pioneer Day." (For those of you not from Utah, Pioneer Day is a big state celebration for the pioneers who founded Utah.) We went swimming, barbequed hamburgers and hotdogs, had lots of dessert, and the boys set off a ton of fireworks for us. It was a lot of fun!

Weekend birthday fun

This weekend (Saturday) was Ethan's 4th birthday. I made him pancakes for breakfast and then him and Austin went to play at my parent's house while Adam and I went to a wedding luncheon in Salt Lake for Adam's cousin, Gavin. My best friend Jaime was in town visiting from Georgia this weekend so we got to hang out with her and her husband Jon and their two cute girls. On Sunday, they came to church with us and then we all went to my parent's house for dinner. That night, a few of us who were good friends from our days at BYU, got together for dessert at my friend Andi's house. It was so much fun to see everyone again and catch up. In three weeks all my BYU friends are meeting up on Coronado Island in California for a big reunion weekend. I can't wait!!

Swimming

We went to the Scera Pool Friday with Amanda, Jullian, and Jackie and all the kids. I'd never been to that pool before, but it was a lot of fun. Ethan played on the slide for over an hour straight, and Austin had fun just lounging in the shallow water.

Happy Birthday Ethan

Ethan had a few of his friends over for a small birthday party on Thursday. He turns 4 on the 19th!! The kids played in our blow-up pool, did some slip & sliding, and threw water balloons. It was a lot of fun, I just can't believe how old my kids are getting.
