O, Christmas Tree!

Every year, Adam and I debate the merits of real vs fake Christmas trees. I love real, he prefers fake. I ultimately win out every year because I feel more passionate about it than he does. Plus, this year Ethan was old enough to add to the pressure of wanting to go pick out a real tree (thanks Ethan!). We found a beautiful tree (even Adam admitted it was the prettiest one we've ever gotten) and decorated it yesterday. Ethan insisted on putting EVERY ornament on, which resulted in them all being in the same 2 square foot section of the tree. I, of course, had to go back after he went to sleep and rearrange all the ornaments.

You might notice Austin doing this same silly face in every picture lately. Every time we ask him to smile for a picture, he opens his eyes really wide, but doesn't actually smile.

Kylee's newborn photo session

I finally got Kylee's newborn pictures back; they turned out amazing! Now I've just got to narrow down which ones to use for her birth announcement...
It took over 2 hours to take these pictures, but it was well worth it. Thanks Mindy (http://www.mindyyoungphotography.com/index2.php#/home/)!

3 weeks

Kylee is 3 weeks old! She is healthy and doing great, and we love having her in our family. She loves to eat; she is almost 9 pounds already! She loves to cuddle and always stops crying when her brothers talk to her.

The first 2 pictures are from when she was 2 weeks old

And the next 2 pictures are of Kylee at 3 weeks

She's Here!

Kylee Alexa Winn was born October 30th (her due date), at 3:05 pm, weighing 8 lb and 18 1/2 inches.
My water broke at home the night before. We got to the hospital around 11 pm and the few contractions I was having slowly came to a halt. We waited and waited and tried to sleep, but ended up awake all night til they finally started me on some pitocin at 5 am to get things going. They kept upping and upping the pitocin dose because my contractions weren't very close together. I got an epidural, so it wasn't too bad except I was nauseous almost the whole labor for some reason. Finally around 3:00 she was ready to come. With just a few pushes, she was out.
We're all doing great (just very tired). Ethan and Austin are obsessed with her. Ethan said yesterday, "Mommy, I just love her so much! She's the cutest baby in the whole world. We're so lucky!"

Provo Canyon

We spent the evening with my family, enjoying the last of the fall leaves in Provo Canyon. The weather was perfect and even though a lot of the beautiful fall leaves had already fallen, it was still gorgeous in the mountains. We ate dinner, threw the football, and took walks with Ethan and Austin. So much fun, but so sad that fall will be over soon and the freezing snow will be here before we know it.

Let's hope this is the last picture taken of me while I'm pregnant. I'm due in a week and a half, but crossing my fingers it happens earlier... I think in every other picture I've taken while pregnant I've hidden my belly behind something, but here it is for all to see...

Baby update and Scarecrow Festival

Ethan has been out of school for fall break the last couple of days. It's been nice to have no schedule to follow. I've used the time to try and get some last minute things done in preparation for baby Kylee's arrival. Almost everything is ready, now I'm just waiting for the nursery to get finished (I'll post pictures when it's all done, Adam and Josh have been working hard). I've been having contractions nonstop the last week and a half, but no baby yet. We've almost gone to the hospital on a couple occasions. But for some reason, after 7 hours of contractions every 5 minutes, it came to a halt just as I finished packing my hospital bag.
Today the boys and I took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and went to the Scarecrow Festival. We met up with a few friends who'd decided to go that day too, and had a lot of fun.

Not the greatest picture, but I love Austin's sneaky little smile he makes when he's being silly

Looks like I have a pumpkin under my shirt...

Feeling Crafty

With only 2 1/2 weeks to go til my due date, I've been running around frantically trying to get everything ready for the baby. Adam and his friend have been working on putting up bead board in the nursery (I'll post pictures when it gets finished), buying and washing clothes, cleaning the house, packing my hospital bags, arranging people to take care of the boys while I'm in the hospital, etc. I am not very crafty and have sewn something one time in my life. But I got a sewing machine for Christmas last year and I've been determined to learn how to use it. So my mom came over yesterday and taught me some of the basics of sewing, and helped me sew a blanket and 6 cute burp cloths. And last week a woman from church taught everyone how to make tutus, so I also made one of those. Everything turned out really cute, despite my lack of ability. Just don't look too closely because my seams are not very straight.
