Pretty in Pink

We celebrated Kylee's first birthday a week before her actual birthday since we knew everyone would be trick-or-treating the weekend of her real birthday. The theme for the party was "Pretty in Pink." We chose that because Adam, Ethan, and Austin have always sung this cute little song they made up to her called Pretty in Pink, so we thought it was a fitting theme.
Everything was pink for the party: the invitations, her clothes, the cake, the chocolate covered strawberries, all the decorations, etc. She got so many cute clothes and some fun toys, too. And she LOVED eating her own little cake. She shoved her hands right into it, and by the end was smashing it everywhere! The boys were SO excited about her party, you would've thought it was Christmas. They love her so much. We are so happy and blessed to have her in our family; she is the sweetest baby anyone could ask for!

I love this picture because I was just trying to take a picture of the Happy Birthday banner I made, but behind it you can see everyone gathered around Kylee laughing and smiling as she eats her cake.

She LOVED her baby doll

She alternated between stuffing her face with the cake and kissing her pink balloon

The main cake! I love it! No, I didn't make it. My mother-in-law knows a very talented cake maker.

Everyone's parting gift...

Family Pictures

My sister took our family pictures a month or so ago. I just LOVE the orchard where we took them! There were deer wandering around everywhere and the lighting there is beautiful. The kids were not very cooperative, so we didn't get too many great shots, but we got a few luckily. Here are a few of the many we took...

Soccer

I never got a chance to do a post about Ethan playing soccer. The season ended a few weeks ago, but here are a few pictures from the season...

Pumpkinland

I took the kids to a fun place called Pumpkinland. We met my sister-in-law, Mandi, there, and her 2 kids, Nick and Samantha. The boys had so much fun having their cousin Nick to run around with. We could barely keep up with them in the corn maze. They also had a spook ally, animals to see, a pumpkin patch, blow up slides, swing sets, and all sorts of fun things to climb on. So fun!

The Alpine Loop in the Fall

My mom and Austin at Sundance

Me and the kids at Tibble Fork Reservoir

Grandma Sue and her grandkids at Sundance

The boys on a bridge at Sundance

A couple weeks ago my mom and I took the kids on a drive through the Alpine Loop. The mountains were SO BEAUTIFUL with the changing colors of the leaves. The boys had a great time collecting leaves and running around. We even saw 2 moose! As we were coming down the mountain, almost to Sundance, we saw them on the side of the rode. We stopped to watch them and they walked right in front of our car, across the road.

11 Months

This is a bit late, but a virus seriously messed up our computer this month, and I was unable to use the internet til now.

At 11 months, Kylee:
-Still won't crawl or walk! She occasionally will crawl for a foot or two, but then immediately decides she'd rather roll around. Despite not crawling or walking, she gets around everywhere very quickly by rolling and scooting around.
-Is starting to drink whole milk, and loving it
-Has a huge appetite and will eat ANY food you give her, she is not picky at all. I love that.
-FINALLY sleeping through the night again. Ever since she was hospitalized for RSV, her night time sleeping habits have been pretty messed up. It took a few nights of crying, but we are all finally sleeping better.
-Likes to babble. She says mama, dada, and will say "baaa" when she sees me running water for a bath.
-This baby LOVES her feet, more than any other baby I've ever seen. She picks stuff up with them, using them to play with toys, props them on everything, plays with them, etc. It is so funny to watch.

Cornbellys

I took the kids to Cornbellys at Thanksgiving Point on Saturday. They've added a bunch more stuff to do this year, and we had lots of fun. We didn't do the corn maze (who wants to get lost for hours in a corn maze with 3 whiney kids in the 90 degree heat?), but the boys went on all the slides, rode the "grain train" through the corn fields, rode the "cow train", watched the chicken show, played in the castle, played in a room filled with pieces of corn, and more. So fun!
