Provo Canyon

We spent the evening with my family, enjoying the last of the fall leaves in Provo Canyon. The weather was perfect and even though a lot of the beautiful fall leaves had already fallen, it was still gorgeous in the mountains. We ate dinner, threw the football, and took walks with Ethan and Austin. So much fun, but so sad that fall will be over soon and the freezing snow will be here before we know it.

Let's hope this is the last picture taken of me while I'm pregnant. I'm due in a week and a half, but crossing my fingers it happens earlier... I think in every other picture I've taken while pregnant I've hidden my belly behind something, but here it is for all to see...

Baby update and Scarecrow Festival

Ethan has been out of school for fall break the last couple of days. It's been nice to have no schedule to follow. I've used the time to try and get some last minute things done in preparation for baby Kylee's arrival. Almost everything is ready, now I'm just waiting for the nursery to get finished (I'll post pictures when it's all done, Adam and Josh have been working hard). I've been having contractions nonstop the last week and a half, but no baby yet. We've almost gone to the hospital on a couple occasions. But for some reason, after 7 hours of contractions every 5 minutes, it came to a halt just as I finished packing my hospital bag.
Today the boys and I took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and went to the Scarecrow Festival. We met up with a few friends who'd decided to go that day too, and had a lot of fun.

Not the greatest picture, but I love Austin's sneaky little smile he makes when he's being silly

Looks like I have a pumpkin under my shirt...

Feeling Crafty

With only 2 1/2 weeks to go til my due date, I've been running around frantically trying to get everything ready for the baby. Adam and his friend have been working on putting up bead board in the nursery (I'll post pictures when it gets finished), buying and washing clothes, cleaning the house, packing my hospital bags, arranging people to take care of the boys while I'm in the hospital, etc. I am not very crafty and have sewn something one time in my life. But I got a sewing machine for Christmas last year and I've been determined to learn how to use it. So my mom came over yesterday and taught me some of the basics of sewing, and helped me sew a blanket and 6 cute burp cloths. And last week a woman from church taught everyone how to make tutus, so I also made one of those. Everything turned out really cute, despite my lack of ability. Just don't look too closely because my seams are not very straight.

BYU

Ethan went to his first BYU football game last weekend. BYU played Florida State, and everyone was expecting BYU to win, including me, but unfortunately it didn't happen. I still had a lot of fun watching Ethan seeing the stadium for the first time and answering all his football questions (or making up answers to those questions I didn't know). Our seats were awesome, 5th row (thanks Papa Steve!). Thanks also to my sister-in-law Mandi who watched Austin for us!

Ethan brings these toys (The Little Einsteins)with him EVERYWHERE! He insisted on a picture with them...

My cute niece and nephew

A few weeks ago I took some family pictures for my Adam's brother, Tyler, and his wife, Mandi, and my cute niece and nephew. I have ZERO experience taking pictures for others, I've only practiced on my own kids. But they turned out pretty cute, despite my lack of experience. It was a lot of fun and I hope I can do it for them again sometime!

30

Adam turned 30 last week, but wasn't home to celebrate with us. That's because he was off with three of his guy friends in Dallas for the big BYU vs Oklahoma football game. The game was AMAZING, not to mention their awesome seats and the huge new Dallas Cowboys stadium. I wish I could've been there, too!
Since he was gone on his birthday, we celebrated this week with a fun party at my parent's house. We had our families and a few friends over for a golf-themed party.
We had a lot of fun, and don't worry Adam, as my Dad said, "Your 30's are the new 20's!"

Right where Adam is standing is where their seats were, 16th row I think.

That thing is huge!

On my parent's deck right before the party started. There's my almost 33-week belly... only about 7 weeks left!

The golf bag cake I made... it didn't turn out quite as good as I'd hoped, but I figured if a 5 year old can tell what it is, it can't be too bad.

Kindergarten

How can I have a child in Kindergarten!?!? Ethan started Kindergarten about a week ago. I was pretty nervous for him because he had such a hard time starting preschool last year and the year before; it was such a nightmare. Luckily, he's grown up a lot in the last year and he did great! He loves it and really enjoys riding the bus, too. Before the school year started, I was also really worried about how supportive the school would be in dealing with his life threatening peanut and almond allergies. So far, I've been really relieved because his teacher seems to really be on top of things.

Austin was pretty sad when we left Ethan at school on the first day. He's had so much fun having his brother around all summer, and he cried when we left the school.
