Annual Disney Trip

WARNING: Way too many pictures in this post!
We went on our annual Disneyland trip last week. The weather was amazing, the crowds weren't bad at all, and we all had so much fun. My family came along with us, even Eric and Lara were able to fly from Colorado to join us. Unfortunately my dad couldn't come because he was out of town for work. We were so sad he couldn't come along.
We got to California Tuesday evening, and hit Disneyland bright and early the next day. We spent the whole day there. The next day we went to California Adventures for half the day and then to Disneyland for the last half.

Two days on your feet is a lot of walking, even for a 6 year. Especially a lazy 6 year old like mine.

Love the Mickey ice cream bars!

Eric is such a nice uncle. Seriously, I wouldn't carry my almost 70 pound child around like that.

Ready for the Toy Story 3D ride

The first whole day at Disneyland, Kylee hated all the rides she went on. She cried the whole time she was on a ride. But I was determined to make her like them, so I kept taking her on them. By day 2, she LOVED all the rides. I guess we can keep her!

Austin has always had an intense fear of dressed up characters; I have no idea where it comes from. Last year when we were getting ready for our Disney trip, we talked endlessly with him about how they were just grownups in costumes, they're so nice, they love kids, etc. And last year, he was timid, but he did great with them. He took pictures with them, though he didn't like them to touch him. So this year I figured he'd be okay with it. Nope. He was completely freaked out, as you can see in this picture.

Riding the bus to the park with Aunt Kristin.

When my brother Eric was a little boy, he got chosen by Merlin to attempt to pull the sword out of the stone, and he pulled it out! He got to walk around the park with Merlin, holding the sword and wearing a crown and King robes. We told Ethan this story and Ethan was determined to pull the thing out. Didn't happen. :(

Since Eric and Lara don't live close by, Kylee doesn't know them well. Lara was determined to win her affections, and after an afternoon with her, she was successful

Ethan really wanted to meet Buzz. While he was in line for the rocketships with Austin, Eric, and Lara, Buzz came near where we were sitting and a large line formed. Adam was a good dad and decided to go get in line so that when Ethan got off the ride, he'd be right at the front of the Buzz line. Well, the rocketship line ended up taking forever, so Adam got to the front of the Buzz line before Ethan got back. Panicked, Adam ended up taking a picture with Buzz by himself. It was hilarious. Then he had to get in line AGAIN for Ethan. It was pretty funny.

18 months and still not walking. Ok, she has taken her first steps, and even walked across a whole room, but she refuses to do it all the time. So we walked around with her like this a lot.

Everyone, minus Adam who was taking the picture

We spent the next day at the beach. The kids were in heaven. Ethan could have stayed there for days, he even said it was way more fun than Disneyland. We climbed on the rocks and saw all sorts of crabs and other creatures.

Our last night there we went to our favorite dinner spot, Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner. Love the chicken, boysenberry punch, and boysenberry sherbert!

Looks like so much fun. I think the next time we go we need to go when we can swim at the beach too. Love the ocean.
